On behalf of the Officers and Board of PAVAUK I wish you  a warm welcome to the charity website.

Our visitorometer tells us that we have had just over 1,000 visitors in the first 6 months of this new site.

Without it sounding like an Oscar Ceremony I would like to thank all Board members especially Dr Mervyn Eastman our president, Pete Morgan our Chair, Stephanie who doubles as Charity Secretary and Membership Secretary and most importantly I would like to thank you as members for continuing to support the charity, please never be backwards in coming forward in making contact.

I also place on record our thanks to Mr Norman Campion who has assisted greatly behind the scenes with  admin and membership renewals, this year we have started to introduce standing order mandates.

I also welcome new Trustees, Solicitor Caroline Coats from Southampton and Health-care Professional Ann Rouine from Birmingham.  Stephanie Angell (nee Pateman) involved with vulnerable people in the criminal justice arena, an officer/trustee of other national organisations also becomes a Trustee following a year as a  co-opted member of the Board.

PAVAUK seek local representation, local people happy to lead and co-ordinate groups, we will provide from our budget funds of up to £200 per year to assist your endeavors by contributing £50 for each of four quarterly meetings. We seek interested parties to be co-opted to the board to allow us to have some input from various angles, our chair seeks some assistance in Birmingham with project planning, tell us how we can assist you and what you feel needs to be considered.

As I have mentioned on this website, my appointment as Honorary Chief Executive is not the assumption to a role with great power, far from it. It is an attempt to ensure day to day cohesion with the work of the charity bearing in mind of course that we are all volunteers, there is only a very small financial consideration to cover administration and costs, to keep the office running.

The telephone is answered by Stephanie or myself when able, bearing in mind we are both professional people and have other health-care/social care roles.
